Albany Police Substation

albany, ny

Dembling + Dembling Architects was responsible for the programming, feasibility study and architectural design for a new, 3000 square-foot police substation.

Albany Local Development Corporation, acting as agent for the City of Albany and Albany Police Department, managed the site selection and the design and construction process.

DDA worked directly with the City and Police to determine the program components.  Police concerns for function and security were satisfied in the planning process.

Meetings with community groups served to insure acceptance of the building’s appearance and functions.

Materials and landscape features were selected for neighborhood compatibility and enhancement.

The building includes offices, interview rooms, a squad room, toilets and lockers as well as a large community room.

Construction administration services were also included as part of the project.
